CrossFTP won't upload files?

Hi all,
I downloaded and installed CROSSFTP server and installed it on Ubuntu 10.04. I set it up, and created a new user, and selected a folder for the directory. All I need is for this FTP server to receive files (have them upload to the FTP server) from networked security cams on the home network. It shows the incoming connection as successful with the login and then closes it, giving no errors. But, it is not uploading the .bbspam.com clip files from the camera to the directory folder. I changed the directory folder to a different one, and it does the same thing? Why isn't it allowing the upload of files? I've even tried setting the directory folder as just "/", and it still won't work. (the other directory folders I've tried are /home/Backups, /home/Backups/FTP, and /home).

Can you upload the file on the local host?
The problem seems to be caused by the router/firewall which blocks your incoming data connections, instead of the location of your FTP home.
Check this post to see if you can config your router correctly: http://www.crossftp.com/kb/entry/32/
