Remote Connection

Postby gaara » Sat Dec 20, 2008 2:36 pm

Hi all!

I am trying to get connection outside the local network but can't. I can connect only by having url 'localhost'.

The computer do not have any router either.

I am tried using port 21 and 8021 to the server.

What's wrong? Have I missed to check something?

I do get this error as client,
Code: Select all
Svar:   150 File status okay; about to open data connection.
Svar:   425 Can't open data connection.
Fel:   Misslyckades med att hämta kataloglistning

and this on server side:
Code: Select all

Thanks for your question. Since you've successfully get the command line channel connected, while the data channel failed to connect, it is probably caused by the NAT/Firewall on your server machine that blocks your data channel's connection.
Please check those settings and allow the data connection on the firewall/NAT.

Or you can try the PORT mode on your FTP client instead of PASV to make the connection to the server. (Sites -> Site Manager -> Options -> Connection Mode)

Yeah I know, but I don't have any firewall on, I am no pro on TCP/IP/Networking, but shouldn't it work? Or can it be my ISP that blocks the data channel?

However thanks for the info alex!

PS: I noticed that SystemTray didn't work on Ubuntu/Gnome, I assume you don't use JSE 6? There is support now for linux with gnome, if you want to know here
