Well, I can't connect locally on the same computer, but can with another computer on the network. :?:
Any help to fix this, would be great.

Now the other problem.
Unable to connect to server over the internet.
First I went to my DSL modem 192.168.1.254 and found that my local wan address was 206.162.205.174, and could not get a connections.
Then I went to http://www.whatsmyip.org and was told that my IP was 206.162.204.6, but still could not get connected. :x

So two questions, whats the correct IP address and two why can't I get connected.
Network set up is netopia DSL modem 192.168.1.254 to Linksys WRT54G router192.168.2.1 to Desktop 192.168.2.150 running vista.
Port fowarding is set port 21 to 192.168.2.150 and a static Ip as been set within the desktop computer

If you would like to attempt a connection, If do try, please leave results within this thread (Good Files are awaiting you)
Username: user
Password: letmein
Port: 21

Thanks again :x

Make sure you have inputted the correct server address and port in the local machine. If in your server you specified the IP address, you need to use that IP address to connect to the local machine, rather than using "localhost". If you want to be able to use localhost and the IP address simultaneously, you should put empty in the server's host configure, which allows the serve to bind to any available network interface.

For the second problem, can you paste the error log from the client side to help identify the problem?

Alex

I changed browers from IE to FireFox based on forum information. Now I can connect locally with the same computer. First problem is fixed.

Let me briefly explain what I can do and what I cannot do:
Can connect with FF(firefox) locally to the server
can not connect with FF over the internet to the server
Can connect to mozilla ftp using crossftp client
can not connect to my server over the internet using crossftp client

I am sorry, but I am unable to find the error log on the client side
Errors I get on the main page bottom right are
[R1] Connect to Desktop Internet
[R1] Connection refused: connect
[R1] Connection lost.
[R1] Reconnect #1 to Desktop Internet in 30 seconds.

Server is running, if you would like to try
206.162.204.6

Yep, I'm one of the person's that follow www.tinkernut.com, and installed crossftp.
Tinkernut makes it look simple, guess what, it's not.

I've done everything to get this program working, and wasted my time.

I thought crossftp was user friendly.

Its time to just uninstall this program, cause it don't work for me.

Setting up an FTP Server behind a router requires some effort on the network and FTP protocol. Please refer to this article for assistant: http://www.crossftp.com/kb/entry/32/
